  1. Hey Brendan, if you sell the rights to your images how much more do you ask for the image e.g. do you double the price? great video by the way, very interesting. Also when you download your images off your camera do you plug the camera into your computer and import through Lightroom or do you remove the sd card from the camera and plug into a card reader then drop and drag into a file?

  2. I think you may need to check your Amazon cloud storage plan, as they have recently changed their pricing, you can no longer get unlimited storage, even for prime and existing users. They now charge $59:99 for 1 TB of storage, with up to 30TB of storage available at an additional charge of $59:99 for each additional TB of storage pa. This new plan will come into affect for existing users on the date of your annual renewal. If you don't want to renew then you will have 180 days to remove your existing photos.

  3. Great info, thanks Brendan! Possible future topic idea might be around the definitions of or tips for the various "rights" for your photos- ie, exclusive (how you contract with the assignments as to whether you can use the same images they've picked out for other purposes), or the types you use for stock? So it might be a bit more of the legal considerations you need to be aware of? Just a thought… loved catching up on your content one right after the other…it's almost like watching a movie lol

  4. Hello Brendan…I saw your channel about a couple months back with thomas heaton as I was a subscriber of him, then after I saw you first I thought may be I wouldn’t like your vlog but I was wrong then I started follow and subscribed you and believe me I just love your vlogs and waiting eagerly for next and really inspired from you as I love photography and created my channel specially inspired by you. Now even I definitely watch your vlog first above all. Lots of love and appreciation from me my name is Santanu from India.

  5. And ya, I have a question too

For now, fotographi is my hoby, specially landscape photography.

I want so sell my landscape photos, but I don't know how to do it. Please give me something that I can do at less for now.

And one more question, your landscape photos, what's the company that very much to buy it.

    Thanks

I think part 2 of this video will be interested.

  6. Hello Brendan, good job. I would like to ask you something. Let's assume I am starting now my travel photography business. I am a professional photographer for 14 years in photojournalism in Greece.
I don't have editorial clients, my social media numbers are low, I don't have a youtube channel with thousands of subscribers, no blog. I only have stock photography submissions. I want to go a travel to get started, I will return with many good photos. After that what? Thank you. Keep up the good work

  7. Wow man, I can't believe you lived in the same building as I do, small world! Would have been great to bump into you, haha. Anyway, good tips on the file storage. I didn't know Amazon Prime gives you unlimited storage, that's even better than Google's 10TB.

  8. Hey Brendan, loved the info! Would you please do a video on your travel photo editing. You stated that the majority of it is in Lightroom. I would love to see a couple of start to finish examples of how you process for sale. Thanks!

  9. Very informative,, I'm looking forward to seeing you preparing for your exhibition. It'll be interesting seeing your thought process on how your going to display, what size you're going to display, what paper you choose and how you go about printing. For me, the most exciting and rewarding moment is seeing your photographs as an object.

  10. Hi there, I have asked previously… here I asked again… What size of Raw did you take? I have 6D as well… and jpeg at the same time? or Raw only…. my practice is small Raw and Large jpeg… I wanna know yours… thx

  11. Great insight video into your many business tentacles. Couple of questions, when you send the assignment client all 10 photos for them to pick only 2, do you send them the full res, and if so how do you know they've only kept the 2 they paid for? And the same for the client on retention too, do they get low or high res images to choose form, and how fast do they choose?

I'm guessing this is a huge time-management issue to keep a daily track of all this and keep up with who is doing what?

  12. Hi Brendan, great video as always. I have a suggestion for another educational video – how you manage your social media. If you have a content plan, if you share the same pictures across the social media or you choose what you share and where, if you bother with timing or not, what social media do you use and whether you see business potential in them, if you use any tools to make life easier for you, etc. Social media is big nowadays and also extremely time consuming and I would like to see your hacks and what works for you and what doesn't. Enjoy Koh Samui! πŸ™‚

  13. Thank you for all that.
What are the Metadata/IPTC/Exif you left on the jpeg files you deliver / put on social media and so ?
    Model / Maker / Shutter Speed / Aperture / Name / Keywords , etc. ?

  14. Wait, maybe I missed it, but how exactly do you send images to your client peoplez? Because I can't figure out the best way to send pictures I take of my friends to them without sending one picture per email

  15. where does your LR catalog see the images after you remove from your computer? Do you wipe the keepers from the catalog after you move to the sandisc? Intrigued about your LR catalog. If you ever needed to re-edit them you would have to re-import and you may not have the edits with the file.

  16. Hi Brendan – i shall admit that i found your video through Thomas Heaton's channel but I'm very glad I did. I really enjoy your open and honest style. Both yourself and Thomas are really inspiring me at the moment πŸ™‚

  17. Really interesting and informative. Time to rethink some things I have been doing that were not really effective. One of the reasons I like your Vlogs is your openness about everything and that is not a characteristic you find very much anymore unfortunately.
